Saying "Yes" To God's "No"

Coffee With God: 2/24/23 | Deuteronomy 3:26

“But the Lord was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me. And the Lord said to me, ‘Enough from you; do not speak to me of this matter again.”

Sometimes God says, “no.” This reality is one that many Christians struggle to accept.

“But didn’t God love Moses?”… “But what about grace?”… “But doesn’t God want to give us the desires of our hearts?”…

The questions can go on for days. But at the end of the day, sometimes God answers our requests with a simple yet definitive “no.”

God is for us. He has our best interest and our best future in mind. The critical thing we must remember is that our perspective is tiny compared to his. He sees the whole picture, from eternity to eternity. How every action, reaction, trial, and blessing affects every person in and around them. When it’s all said and done, what God wants to give us more than anything else is a restored identity. He wants us to look and sound like him. And he never changes, despite everything happening in this crazy world.

Will you cleave to him even when he doesn’t give you what you want at the moment you want it? Will you trust him when things don’t go how you wish they would? Will you choose to reveal him to the world - his love, his peace, his joy - even when things in your life aren't perfect?
